Binghamton Aeros chapter 98

On Sept. 18, 1985 the Binghamton Aeros was founded by 9 pilots at Morey's restaurant.  It was determined that this club would be strictly a giant scale organization and would allow membership by invitation only.

The membership would be committed to promote the flying and building of giant scale models.  Each member was to have at least one giant scale model but would be allowed to fly smaller models at the field.

Our home field would be at the Chenango Bridge Airport.  We committed to work on improving the facility i.e.; painting, mowing and general cleanup of the grounds in return for the privilege of the field use.

We would be required to belong to AMA and IMAA as a condition of membership.  Also, we would be required to hold a giant scale fun-fly each year and all members would have to help in putting it on.

The club is sanction as AMA #2187 and IMAA #98.

As months went on we grew to 25 members who participated in flying, building and social events such as Christmas parties, pool parties, picnics, which included members and family.
